Snowflakes?

A scheduled post from me today. I'm here to remind you that there is still time to enter our latest challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Our theme this month is "Snowflakes". I'm happy to say that we've had gorgeous blue skies here for the past few days and none of the unwelcome white stuff, so I didn't really mind having to work with a wintry theme.

My followers will probably know that I love, love, love this stamp (you've seen me use it often enough!). She is probably my all-time favourite Lili of the Valley image as I love colouring her and I think she works in all colours. My Copics and some Stickles were all she needed.

I kept the background very simple: just some Magnolia snowflakes paper and a large snowflake behind the image cut using a Martha Stewart PATP punch.  I popped some pearls in each snowflake, just because.

We're sponsored by Funky Kits, who are giving away to Personal Impressions Gorjuss Girls stamps, so I do hope you can join in the fun.  You can check out the details and the amazing inspiration projects my teamies have made here.

Have a great day!

Stars and Stripes

Hello!  Firstly, I must give my apologies for not being around as much as I would have liked over the past few weeks.  It's mostly due to work and I have another weekend of marking ahead as my senior pupils have just finished their prelims. I have a number of cards on the go, but not quite finished, so please bear with me - hopefully things will get easier as we head towards Easter!

Anyhoo, there's a new challenge starting today at Sweet Stampin'.  In honour of our gorgeous Sweetie, the lovely Abi, we've chosen Stars and Stripes as our theme.  Our girl has gone of to the U S of A for a fabulous holiday (not really jealous) and we know that she is just going to have the BEST time!

Our sponsor this week is the Stamp Fairy, who gave each of the Sweeties an image to play with.  Here's what I did with mine:

I cut up my image of Barry with his firework after colouring it with Copics.  I punched some stars rather than cut out the tiny ones on the digi and also cut some bunting from the DP, which is all Magnolia. There's plenty of room for me to add a sentiment later - I think this is destined to go to a wee boy we know.

I hope you can pop over to Sweet Stampin' to check out the fabby creations my lovely teamies have made to inspire you.  So let's see what you do with those stars and stripes (but don't forget to STAMP)!

Have a great Saturday!

White Plus One at LhoSM

Hello everyone. I'm back with my DT card for the latest Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia Challenge, which has the theme of White plus One Other Colour.

I've had this little hAnglar stamp for a few years and never get tired of colouring her.  This time I used my Distress Markers - mostly Spun Sugar, Weathered Wood and Tea Dye (for the hair). I matched her with papers from an Authentique pad in the prettiest soft pink and white.  The old Doohickey swirl die has been put through its paces again and I've added flowers and a doily from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The ribbons (there is a white one underneath the pink) are both from my stash.

I'm delighted to say that this fortnight we're sponsored by Live and Love Crafts, the Vintage Specialists.  Here's what they have to say:

Live and Love Crafts is a UK based online store that specializes in vintage and shabby chic craft materials. We ship WORLDWIDE.
We stock the unique and beautiful vintage inspired scrapbooking papers from the Scandinavian vendors Maja Design, Pion Design, Inkido, Landstoken, and Riddersholm Design.

And the prize?

I do hope you can play along with us at LhoSM this fortnight - my lovely teamies have made some fabby creations to inpire you!

Forgive me, my lovelies...

for Tracey has sinned.  The Boy Wonder and I have been completely poleaxed by a flu bug that has been doing the rounds and to cheer myself up I did a bit of crafty internet shopping.  Well, I say a bit...

I treated myself to some of the new Bilmalarna stamps from Bunny Zoe and a couple of other bits and bobs might have accidentally fallen into my basket (I'm not well, I don't know what I'm doing).  And I had the best luck on eBay with some hAnglar stamps, reasonably priced and in perfect, unused condition.  I'm going to get them mounted this afternoon and have a wee play - what a joy!

Right, I now need to tell you that we have a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.  It's a lovey theme - Love Is All Around - but it doesn't need to be a valentine creation is that's not your thing.

Here's my take on the theme

This is one of the new-ish Tilda's that came in the Magnolia kit a few weeks ago.  She's been coloured with Copics and I've added some Sakura red glitter pen to the hearts and the bows in her hair.  There are 3 layers of Magnolia paper, all stitched (wonkily) because I keep forgetting to order more d/s tape! Doohickey swirls, some pearls and some cheesecloth went on top, followed by a row of beautiful ribbon from the Ribbon Girl, who incidentally are our fabby sponsor of the monthly prize draw.  This week's sponsor is Cuddly Buddly, who are giving away a £10 voucher to one randomly chosen winner.  So do hop on over to Sweet Stampin' and check out the inspiration makes from my wonderful teamies.
