Charming!

We've got a new challenge starting today at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia.  This fortnight we'd like to see a charm on your project, along with a hAnglar & StAnglar or Magnolia stamped image.

Here's what I made

Can you believe that this is the first chance I've had to colour up this gorgeous stamp?  I coloured Tilda with my Copics and stuck to a simple combination of red and white.  I used a white gel pen to give her a polka dot bow to match the ribbon I used on the card.  The card base is white Bazzill and a used a Martha Stewart PATP to create the lace border.  The paper is from a collection by MME and the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Both the ribbon and the charm are from the Ribbon Girl, who are our sponsors this fortnight.

Sparkle and Shine

Another Saturday, another challenge at Sweet Stampin'.  This week our theme is Sparkle and Shine, so we'd like you to put plenty of glitter/bling/gloss on your projects. 

Here's my DT card

I printed this Mo Manning image a while ago and she's been sitting in a queue waiting to be coloured and covered in Glamour Dust, Stickles and Glossy Accents (on the chocolate chips). I cut the image out and used foam tape to fix it on a centre step card base made with white Bazzill.  As the image is so bold I kept the embellies to the bare minimum,  adding a strip of ribbon and a Doodlebug tag/sticker.

Here Comes Santa!

Time is definitely flying by.  I can't believe we're halfway through May already and I very nearly missed telling you about our latest challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' because in my head May has only just begun!

Anyway, here I am.  Our challenge theme this month is Here Comes Santa so, not surprisingly, we'd like to see Santa feature somewhere on your Christmas card.  I managed to conjure up enough courage to cut into some lush Maja papers I've been hoarding...

I cut the card shape with my Go Kreate dies and all of the papers, including the tags, are from the Maja Winter collection. These papers are so beautiful and such a good weight.  I inked all of the edges with Walnut Stain and sprinkled Frantage here and there.  The star has also had the Frantage treatment, although I can't remember where I bought it (if I do, I'll update this post).

As always at CaSS we have a fabby prize for our winner (chosen by the CaSSettes); this month there are goodies from Iva Nova Chest up for grabs.  My teamies have made some lovely inspiration projects to get the old mojo going, so why not join in the fun?

Feeling Sentimental

Another fortnight has flown by and we're starting a new challenge at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia.  This time we'd like you to include a sentiment on your Magnolia or hAnglar StAnglar creations.

This is the first opportunity I've had to colour up a Tilda from the latest collection and she was indeed a joy to colour with my Copics.  I used some of the last of my K&Co Madeleine papers which I'd been saving and stroking for a few years now; I decided that they really deserved to be put to good use. It's my mum's 79th birthday this week (and my dad's 75th the day after!!) so what better than to make mum's birthday card with these lush papers.

I cut the DP and Bazzill layers with my Go Kreate dies and decided on no embellies so that I could really show off cute Tilda and the pretty colours in the paper.  I made a tag with a Doohickey die and added some toning ribbon - the sentiment is part of a Clearly Besotted set.  I maybe went a bit OTT with the Liquid Pearls for pollen but you can't shift that stuff once it's on!

Hats, heels and handbags

Happy Saturday!  The mini-inspection of our school is now over and I can hopefully now start to catch up with everyone again.  We're expecting the big inspection later this year (we are well overdue), so it's only a temporary respite, but I think I can allow myself a weekend off!

Anyway, I'm here to tell you about our new challenge at Sweet Stampin'. This week we'd love to see your stamped take on the theme of Hats, Heels and Handbags.

I opted for good old Lili of the Valley...

I stamped this little cutie onto watercolour paper and coloured her with DIs in a very limited palette of Weathered Wood, Pumice Stone and Stormy Sky.  I used some Liquid Pearls for her beads and for the stamens in the flower on her hat.

My papers are by Maja Designs and I cut a pierced circle using my new Lil' Inkers die to match the image mat.  The doily is from my stash, as is the organza roses ribbon, to which I added some 10mm roses from WOC.
