Girls Only

I'm feeling very virtuous, as I've spent some time outside this morning doing some serious sweeping up and tidying at the front of the house. I also managed to get some washing on the line for the first time this year!  I couldn't get over how warm it was, although it looks like things are changing now.  I'll be spending the rest of the day indoors, unfortunately, as housework, including a pile of ironing, then schoolwork beckons :0(

Anyhoo, I'm here to tell you about our latest challenge over at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia.  It's a Girls Only theme this fortnight so I don't imagine that will be a problem for anyone!  Here's my DT card, using a very sweet hAnglar girlie

 

 

Another easel card, another dodgy photo!  I used some gorgeous papers from a Bildmalarna pad and out came the Spellbinders scalloped wavy border die again - I love this, in case you hadn't noticed.  Because the main DP is so busy I didn't want to overload the card with embellies, so I kept the flowers down to just 3 big ones at the bottom.  I coloured my hAnglar girlie with Copics and stamped some swirls in Shabby Shutters DI around her to tie the image in with the paper.

Movin' on Up!

Our new challenge at Sweet Stampin' starts this morning and we've picked the theme of transport.  At first I wasn't sure what on earth to do for this, but it's amazing how a quick rake through my stamps brought out quite a few which would fit this theme: skateboard, car (LotV, Tiddly Inks) roller skates, animals pulling each other along in carts... all forms of transport!

In the end I went for this, even though it's something I can't imagine myself ever being brave enough to do!

I stamped the image and coloured some of it with Copics and Sakura glitter pens.  I paper-pieced the balloon using MME papers and I added some faux stitching in honour of the Doodling Queen herself, my pal and Sweet Stampin' boss lady Fi.  The background paper is from a rather old Magnolia collection and I used a Doohicky die to cut the cloud.  The sentiment comes in the same set as the Tiddly Inks balloon stamp and I used a very old Pebbles Inc brad from my stash to complete the cloud.

Flower Power

Time for a new challenge at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia!  In the hope that Spring might finally be on its way, our theme this fortnight is Flower Power.  We'd like to see your ideas on a floral theme but remember, you need to use Magnolia and/or hAnglar & StAnglar stamps only.

I made a very simple card for this challenge

Apologies for the rather dark photo - we're not having the lovely weather up here that some of you in the UK are now enjoying.  I layered up Bazzill French Vanilla cardstock with Maja papers from the Autumn collection.  The image is quite small, so I haven't gone too mad with embellies, just some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I've coloured Tilda with Copics in a fairly limited palette, again because the image is on the small side.

Mothers Day

Don't panic - it's not Mothers Day yet, it's just the theme for our latest challenge at Sweet Stampin'!

I still haven't figured out the best way to take photos of easel cards, as you can see!  This one is for my mum in law, who really likes this style of card.

I used a Martha Stewart PATP to make the borders and cut the fancy ovals with Spellbinders dies.  The paper is from an older Magnolia collection and is quite busy, so I've kept things light on the embellie front.  The die cut border was made using a very old Marianne die and I threaded ribbon from my stash through the top. 

 

 

Tilda was coloured with Copics and with a bit of time and messing about I managed to match the colour of her onesie to the colour of the flowers in the DP.  Unfortunately I forgot to add the glittery bits around the flowers before I took the piccie, so that's a wee job I'll have to do before this goes in the post.

It's Cold Outside!

In spite of the very welcome sun, it's still pretty chilly in these parts, especially first thing in the morning.  Having to defrost the car before heading off to school has, however, made it slightly easier for me to make my DT card for this month's challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'.  Why?  Because our theme is "It's Cold Outside"!

Here's what I made

I've kept things fairly simple, as you can see.  The paper is from an older Magnolia collection and I've cut both the card and paper with Go Kreate dies.  I masked Tilda with the signpost and coloured both images with Copics.  Some Stickles were added for a bit of sparkle. The flowers are a mixture of Wild Orchid Crafts and the Ribbon Girl.

Pretty in Pink

Another fortnight has gone by, meaning it's time for a new challenge at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia.  We've gone for a pink theme this time, so we're looking forward to seeing those girlie hAnglar or Magnolia creations.

I kept my DT card quite restrained, I think, but it's definitely pink all the same!

I coloured my little hAnglar girl with Copics and covered the heart with Glossy Accents.  Try as I might I couldn't pop all of the little bubbles in the Glossy goo but now that it's dried, I quite like the effect.  The papers are MME Blush and I added some lace, gems  and a button from my stash.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Too Cute!

Newsflash!  We have blue sky and sunshine here in SW Scotland!  It's freezing cold but who cares - it's the first time in weeks that we've seen the sun!

We have a fabulous challenge for you this week at Sweet Stampin'.  Our theme is "Cute" - nice and easy, perfect for most occasions.

Here's my DT card

I went for one of Mo's finest with this cute as a button image, which was a real treat to colour.  And yellow.  I had to have yellow.  At the time of making the card it was the nearest I was going to get to sunshine.  The papers are from an Authentique pad and I cut the wavy border with my Spellbinders border die. The doily is a Magnolia Doohickey and the pearls and ribbon were in my stash.
