Love, love, love

It's all about Love this week at Sweet Stampin'! We'd like to see your love-themed creations - stamped, of course!

I went for something a bit different (for me) this time.  I'm trying to use up the craft stash that is taking over the house, including a few ;o) boxes of flowers.

I used a heart die to make a template (because I can't draw!) and used varying sizes of WOC roses to fill in the shape.  Some of the roses had to be manipulated a bit and I've noticed since I took the photo that a couple of the leaves have curled up, so I'll need to stick those back down.

The stamped sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp; it was quite hard to get a good impression with my Versamark ink as the kraft cardstock is very "hairy", but I suppose it adds to the rustic look. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

We're being sponsored by the Ribbon Girl this week.  You'll get all the details here, along with a look at the beautiful DT projects my lovely talented teamies have made.

Hope you can join in with us this week!

Spots or Stripes

The latest challenge at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia starts today! Our theme is Spots or Stripes - in other words, we need to see spots or stripes on your designs.

For my DT card I went for both spots and stripes:

The background is made up of MME papers and some velvet lace, with just a few Pebbles chocolate coloured pearls as embellies.  The image is one of the larger hAnglar stamps and is a joy to colour.  I used Copics and cut the image mat with a Lawn Fawn stitched die.

Our sponsor this fortnight is Live and Love Crafts

Masculine cards at Sweet Stampin'

It's new challenge time at Sweet Stampin' and it's my favourite theme - cards for men/boys ;o)

As you know, I really struggle with male cards but since I got into making more CAS cards I've found the task a wee bit easier.  My DT card is actually one I made for the Husband's birthday.  He's a huntin' and fishin' kinda guy and sees most winged creatures as target practice and then dinner, but I thought he'd appreciate this.

I used an image from a Stampin' Up set which I stamped on linen card over some Hero Arts paint stripes.  This was then layered up with kraft and more white linen card.  Quite straightforward really.

We're being sponsored by Quixotic Paperie this week so there's a voucher up for grabs - Mr Random will pick a winner, but you need to take part to be in the draw!  Hop on over to Sweet Stampin' to check out what the ever-fabulous Sweeties have made to inspire you, then get out your craft stash and join in with us!  I can't think of a better way to spend a cold winter weekend!

Stay cosy!

Nativity!

Just when you thought you'd finished making Christmas cards... back comes Christmas at Sweet Stampin' to remind you that there are only 344 days until Christmas ;o)

Our challenge theme this month is Nativity so we'd like to see something to reflect this aspect of Christmas on your project.  I opted for this sweet image from Wild Rose stamps for my DT card:

I used papers from Maya Design, distressing the edges with the Timmy thingy.  Some pearls, twine and a gorgeous bark star are the only embellishments I felt I needed.  Let's be honest, you wouldn't have flowers in a stable, would you?

You'll get all the competition details here. While you're there, do check out the beautiful inspiration projects created by the CaSSettes.  Hope you can join in this month - can't wait to see what you make!

Anything Goes at LhosM

After having a lovely break for Christmas and New Year, the team at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia are back with a new challenge.  To make it nice and easy we're starting 2015 with an Anything Goes theme, so as long as you use a hAnglar & StAnglar or Magnolia stamp/die you're eligible to enter.

I opted for a Happy New Year card so that I could play with a much underused Tilda:

The papers are Maja Design cut with Go Kreate dies and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I've added lots of sparkle on the fireworks (although it doesn't show in the photo) with glittery Sakura pens in purple, gold and silver.

You can see my teamies fabulous inspiration cards and get the full details of the challenge right here!  Hope you can join in the fun with us this fortnight.

Happy New Year... and something new!

Hello and Happy New Year to you!  I hope you've all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year Holiday.  Here's hoping that 2015 is a good year for peace, health and being kind to each other.

As it's the start of a new year our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is all about newness - maybe you're celebrating a new baby, a new home or job or maybe you'd like to show off some of your new crafty stash! We don't mind as long as your project has a link to something new.

Here's my DT card, made with dies and stamps from Clearly Besotted:

We're being sponsored by Wild Orchid Crafts and you'll find all the challenge details here.  Hope you can join in this week.  If you need inspiration just hop over to see the lovely projects made by the Sweeties.

Have a great day!
