Rushing as usual and forgot to do my Sweet Stampin' post! Oops!
As always on a Saturday, we have a new challenge for you and this week it's Scallops. By scallops we do mean the wavy, curvy things and not the seafood (which I love, by the way). I'm counting the days to the end of term so that I can try to recover from the madness that has been the last few weeks. My Faculty Head and I agreed yesterday that neither of us had ever known a summer term like this one.
I'm trying to make a little album-type card for my dear friend and colleague who has decided to take early retirement and will hopefully get this uploaded over the next couple of days. The Boy Wonder and I are off to Barcelona for a short holiday in just over a week's time and after that I hope to get back into the swing of more regular crafting and blogging.
Haven't seen too much of the tennis as yet but I'm looking forward to watching Mr Murray later on this afternoon.

An Easel Card for Lovely hAnglar and Sweet Magnolias
It's time for a new challenge at Lovely hAnglar and Sweet Magnolias, and this fortnight we're looking forward to seeing your easel cards.
I love easel cards as you can get so much more on them without having to cover up your lovely DP!
I opted for Kraft card this time and made an 8" x 8" card again! I kept the layout pretty simple using some squares of Basic Grey Piccadilly paper, the edges of which I inked with Walnut Stain DI.
I used 3 Doohickey dies to make the doily behind Tilda and cut out the image with a large Go Kreate circle die. I masked Tilda to add the background image and the whole thing has been coloured with Distress Marker pens. I had a go at creating a background of clouds (thank you to my lovely Sweet Stampin' teamie Mickaela for her help here!) using some Tumbled Glass ink but I need to work at this a bit more!
I used a Martha Stewart corner punch on the Kraft card and added lace and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment spot is made up of a Nestie ovals which have been inked around the edges.

Ribbons and Bows at Sweet Stampin'
Our challenge this week over at Sweet Stampin' is Ribbons and Bows! Not surprisingly, we'd like to see creations with ribbons and bows on them!
Here's mine - I went a bit girlie for this one!
I made an 8" x 8" card this time so that I could use my deep edger Martha Stewart PATP. I cut some Maja Design papers using a Go Kreate die and added some Doohickey swirls. I put some little pearls on the swirls to "lift" them a bit, as the soft grey tones can look a bit flat.
The image is one of my favourite girlie images from Lili of the Valley. I coloured her with Distress Ink Markers and used some dots of liquid pearls here and there in the background.
Finally, I tied a big bow using ribbon from the Ribbon Girl and added some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Summer Fun at Sweet Stampin'
This is a very quick post just to let you know about our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'. Sweet Stampin' - In Stitches
Good morning everyone! It's the start of the weekend and the start of a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'!
This week we'd like to see STITCHING on your cards. This can be real or faux, we don't mind. I went for machine stitching on my card but whatever I'd chosen it wouldn't be straight, as I find it almost impossible to stitch or draw a straight line!
I used MME papers from the "On the Sunny Side" collection and stitched the panels to Bazzill cardstock. The image is a Mo Manning digi which I coloured with Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to the pinwheel and put a blob of Liquid Pearls in the centre.
I kept the whole thing pretty simple, just adding a bow made from ribbon from my stash, some liquid pearls and a Craftwork Cards sentiment circle.
I do hope you can join in with our challenge this week. The Sweeties have made some wonderful inspiration projects which are well worth a look!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
No, I've actually managed to make a card! Wish I could say I'd done it today, but this one has been in the making for a while.
I used the gorgeous Maja Design pad to go with my Anchor Tilda. She was stamped and masked so that I could add the background stamp. The image was coloured with Distress Pens and edged with Walnut Stain DI.
The banner was cut from Magnolia paper and Bazzill using a Magnolia Doohickey die. I offset the paper and the card triangles to give the flags a bit of depth. I used another Doohickey die to cut the doily and the lacy border. The pearls, ribbon and charm were all from my stash. Finally I added some Liquid Pearls to Tilda's shorts and to the bow in her hair.
I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Tilda's Town - Tilda/Edwin + an accessory stamp
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes + a doily
I hope you've all had a lovely Jubilee weekend. I watched the concert on Monday night and for the first time in ages really missed living in London! Mind you, that might also have something to do with the fact that Mr Fox paid us a visit at the weekend and killed all of my chickens. I know it's bound to happen from time to time, living where we do, but it doesn't make it any easier. Short of posting armed guards and search lights, I don't know what else I can do to fortify the chicken run - it's like Fort Knox already!

Use Your Favourite Stamp
Hello everyone! First of all, many apologies for not being around as much lately. There's been a fair bit going on both at work and closer to home so I've been running around like the proverbial you-know-what. Not long to the school holidays, though and boy, am I ready for a break.
Anyhoo, it's Saturday. For some of you in southern parts of the UK it's a long, Bank Holiday weekend. For those of us north of the border it's business as usual, pretty much, although the schools are off on Tuesday for the Jubilee. But Saturday's are special - "Why?" I hear you cry. Because on Saturdays we start a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'!
It's a purler of a challenge this week - we want you to Use Your Favourite Stamp. Fortunately for me, it's Team Fi's turn to host the challenge; I just KNOW I wouldn't be able to choose just one stamp! Do go and have a look at the cards the Sweeties have made to inspire you - I promise, there is some serious gorgeousness there! And we have a new Guest Designer for June; the loveliness that is Sarah will be with us for the next few weeks and she's made a fabby card for you to drool over! And we have prizes from Letraset (Promarkers!!) and Joanna Sheen!
I'm really missing my crafting time and hope that I can get something made this weekend. Maybe I'll decide which is my favourite stamp and do something with that...
