Ribbon or Trim at LHoSM

Hope you're all having a relaxing weekend.  I'm back with my DT card for Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia as we have a new challenge starting today.  This fortnight we want to see either ribbon or some sort of trim on your hAnglar & StAnglar/Magnolia projects.

I've gone for fresh spring green today in these gorgeous Maja papers.  Tilda has been coloured with Copics and I added some Liquid Pearls around her basket of spring flowers.  The image mat was cut with a Spellbinders die; other dies used were a Doohickey for the envelope tag and a Cheery Lynn die for the butterfly.

What's your favourite style?

We'd like you to share your favourite crafting style over at Sweet Stampin' this week.  I haven't a clue what mine is!  Pretty, maybe?  I like CAS, too but don't seem to make CAS cards so often as the temptation to add bits and bobs usually gets the better of me.

Anyway, here's my DT card... apologies for the photo but there has been a distinct lack of daylight in this part of the world!

I used a Wee Stamps digi image which I coloured with Copics; the sentiment is also a Wee Stamps digi mounted on a Magnolia label die cut.  The papers are Maja Designs (Sofiero collection) and the edges have been inked with Walnut Stain DI.  There's a bit of Frantage and some dots of Liquid Pearls here and there, plus flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I managed to get a Martha Stewart branch punch over the holiday, so had to use this too.

Off now for my appointment with the hoover, then school work, I think.  I found a fabulous story on le Parisien about an elderly lady who got stuck up her chimney trying to find her glasses... The best bit is that she apparently gave the firefighter who rescued her a good telling off for the mess they made.  My Highers will love that.

Festive Foliage - already!

Yes, I know that Christmas has only just been and gone, but over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' the challenges just keep on coming.

We are being sponsored by Kathryne at Stampart who is giving away 5 digis to one lucky winner. Kathryne very kindly let the CaSSetes have a play with some lovely festive digis - mine is called Christmas Candle and can be found over at Whimsy Stamps.

I layered up some Magnolia papers from past Christmas collections and made a scalloped mat for the image using a Martha Stewart PATP punch.  The image actually has a sentiment attached to it, but I masked this and printed another separately to use on the inside of my card.  The image has been coloured with Copics; I added Stickles to the berries and used a Sakura glitter pen to give a bit of sparkle to the flame.

Anything Goes!

We're back with our first challenge of 2014 at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia and it's an easy one - Anything Goes!

I actually made this card a while ago but the image seems timely given the stormy weather we've been having.

The image is possibly my favourite hAnglar stamp and I love colouring her.  I've used Copics here and added some Magnolia postmarks here and there.  The papers are by Maja Design and I've cut the all of the layers using my Go Kreate dies.  I didn't feel that I needed much in the way of embellies, so I painted some tiny chipboard hearts with Picket Fence crackle paint and added a bow made from gingham ribbon.

Sporty? Fit? Nope!

Happy New Year to you all!  I'm starting to get back into my normal routine after the Christmas holiday and thought I had better schedule this post as the weather is decidedly dodgy again.  I'm here to tell you about the new challenge starting at Sweet Stampin' today.  Our theme is Sports & Fitness  which presented me with a slight problem until I remembered that I had this Tilda stamp in my collection.

I used paper from the Basic Grey Piccadilly pad and used a Spellbinders die to cut the wavy border.  Not too many embellies on this one as the paper is quite busy, just some little WOC roses in toning colours.  I used Distress Markers to colour Tilda this time and stamped the Magnolia sentiment using Walnut Stain DI.
