A new challenge at Sweet Stampin'!

It's Saturday again, so there's a new challenge starting today over at Sweet Stampin'.  This week our theme is "Animals" - we don't mind whether your choose wild or domestic animals, as long as there is stamping on your work.

As always there is a fabby prize for one randomly chosen winner.  Our sponsor this week is Di's Digi Downloads and we also have a monthly sponsor, Joanna Sheen, who will give a prize each month to one lucky entrant.

Hop over here to take a look at what Team Fi have made to inspire you!

Have a great day!

Red White and Blue

Happy Friday evening everyone! I thought I'd share a boy's card with you.

I coloured Edwin playing football with my Copics and cut him out with an oval Go Kreate die.  The papers are from Magnolia; I only got them recently but think I'll be using them a lot more as they're perfect for boys' cards.

I used my Doohickey swirl die again and cut out a stamped rosette from last year's Magnolia sporty collection.  The sticker in the middle of the rosette is from a 7 Gypsies sheet that I've had for ages.  Instead of my beloved flowers I used some Making Memories fabric covered brads.

I'm going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Sports
Magnolia Down Under - Use the colours of your country's flag (Red, White and Blue)

We missed our Burns Supper because I was working late so we're going to have our haggis, neeps and tatties on Sunday - looking forward to that! My chickens have started laying again so for the first time in several weeks I'll be able to get some serious baking done over the weekend. In between marking essays, that is!

And on that foodie note, I'd better go and throw something on the table!

Hope to see you again over the weekend.

Lavender and Lace

Just managed to get my card finished and photographed in time to enter this weeks Lili's Little Fairies challenge, which is Lavender and Lace.

I made an easel card using Bazzill and paper from the lovely K&Co Watercolour Bouquet pad.  My Martha Stewart PATP punch was put to good use around the edges for a lacy look! As the paper is quite busy I kept the embellies to a minimum (for me!).  Just a few Wild Orchid Crafts roses and a couple of bows tied from lace in my stash.

The image has to be one of my favourite Lili of the Valley stamps as she's a dream to colour.  I used my Copics and added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the centre of the flower and the butterfly in her hair.

And that's it!  I'm off for a lie down in a darkened room to get myself ready for another marathon day tomorrow.

Clean, simple and kraft

Normally Clean and Simple and Tracey do not mix!  I need my flowers and bows and pearls and a layer or two.  However, I thought I'd have another try at colouring on Kraft paper and had one of my new Magnolia stamps in mind but couldn't make up my mind which papers to use.  So I decided to go for it and just use Kraft card.

I still can't get the skin tones right so I've coloured the skin with Copics. They seem to sink into the card tho' so I'm not entirely happy with them either.  I've used my Prismas for the rest of the image and added a little blob of Frosted Lace Stickles to the centre of the flower.  The sentiment is a Pebbles Inc rub on and the ribbon is from my stash.

I wasn't entirely happy with this although it's growing on me now.  I'll admit to being pleased with the colouring under Tilda's feet!

I'd like to enter this card in the Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Use Kraft challenge.

We have another new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' starting today.  It's a great theme - Glitter, Sparkle, Bling - All That Glitters, in fact.  We have two amazing sponsors offering prizes too - the fabulous Joanna Sheen and Emerald Faeries.  Well worth hopping over to have a look, I think!
A short post as we've had a dodgy internet connection here for the past couple of days and I've still got my Sweet Stampin' Spotlight post to finish!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues

All of a sudden I seem to using blues in my cards - maybe it's the lack of blue sky or maybe it's because I'm so in love with the Magnolia papers I bought recently!

Here's another blue card that has been a work in progress throughout the course of the week.

I followed the sketch from this week's challenge at TOMIC and used the lovely Magnolia papers again. The card base is Bazzill and I cut a lacy border using my Martha Stewart PATP. I can't remember what the make of the die for the oval mat for Tilda - Marianne? Nellies?

Tilda is coloured with Copics but has also had a very liberal covering of Diamond Stickles.  I used the Doohickey swirls and mistletoe dies - you can just see the mistletoe sticking out from under the flowers, which as always are from Wild Orchid Crafts, along with the pearls and stamens.  All of the flowers had a little spritz of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist although I'm not sure how well it shows up in the photo. Finally I cut a tag using a Whiff of Joy die and added a Bazzill rub on sentiment.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Official Magnolia Challenge - Follow the sketch and use blue, white and glitter
Magnolia Down Under - Anything Goes
Totally Tilda - Thank You
CES Challenge Blog - Anything Goes
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes

Goodness, I don't think I've entered so many challenges in one go before!

Off to do a bit of school work now, then haggis for tea!

Have a lovely week and I'll try to get something made and posted mid-week if I can.

Spots 'n' Dots

Good morning! It's time for me to tell you about the new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'.  This week we have two sponsors - the Stamp Fairy and Crafty Ribbons - and we now have a regular monthly sponsor in the fabulousness that is Joanna Sheen!

Our challenge this week is "Spots 'n' Dots" and the DT were given images from the Stamp Fairy to play with.

I coloured the image with Copics and put her on a Marianne die cut.  The papers are from a 6"x6" Christmas paper pack (Fancy Pants, I think). I put some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers in the centre of a couple of plain Prima ones and added some Pebble Inc dots to the corners.

Amazing, isn't it, how quickly you get back into the old routine after Christmas?  So it's housework for me for the rest of today and schoolwork at some point tomorrow.  Never mind, it'll soon be Easter!

Have a lovely weekend.

New Year Fireworks

I thought I'd show you a card I made for my grandparents to say a combined "thank you" and "Happy New Year".

The DP is by Prima and I matted it onto Bazzill card.  I cut (another!) fence with my Doohickey die and added some ribbon a couple of pearls from my stash.

I used one of the Christmas Tildas and coloured her with Copics. She was with me too late for bonfire night but I thought she'd be great for New Year cards.  The fireworks were highlighted with gold Stickles and I put some Glamour Dust on her skirt and scarf.  Unfortunately I forgot to add some ribbon to the message tag before I took my photos - oops!

Papertake Weekly are having an "Anything Goes" challenge with an optional added "new something", so I thought this might fit the bill.

I can't believe I've only got another day before term starts - the last two weeks have just flown by! I had a little spend in the craft sales online so I'm looking forward to a couple of parcels arriving - mostly paper and a couple of stamps, but still exciting!

Hope to see you again before the end of the week.

Hugs

A New Year and a New Challenge

Happy New Year everyone! Here's hoping that 2012 is a good year for all of us!  I don't really make New Year's Resolutions but I do hope that this year I can make some progress with the house - it's had a lot of work done to it but there's still a long way to go!  I'd also like to organise my time better; my work:life balance needs to be adjusted so that I can spend more time with the Boy Wonder before "Kevin the Teenager" syndrome really kicks in.

After a wee break for the holidays over at Sweet Stampin' we have a new challenge and what could be more appropriate than "New Beginnings" as a theme?  It can be any creative project as long as it's stamped and you can interpret "New Beginnings" however you wish - a new baby, job, home, a wedding - the choice is yours!

Team Abi and Fi are all pitching in this week as some of the Sweeties are off on their hols, so I made a new baby card as my stepdaughter is having her first baby in February.

I used my favourite Lili of the Valley baby image and coloured it with Copics.  The DP is a Magnolia 6"x6" and I've used a doily from Joanna Sheen as a mat for the image. The heart was cut from a Sizzix die and I've used the Magnolia swirls die behind it. I added a bow using ribbon from my stash and the charm is a little baby's bottle.

Do hop on over to Sweet Stampin' if you have a moment and join in the fun.  It's the lovely Donna's last week as our Guest Designer and I would like to say what a pleasure it has been having her on board. Such a lovely lady.

Have a lovely long weekend everyone.  Sending you all a special New Year's hug!
