Love or Hearts at LhoSM

It's time for a new challenge at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia and we've gone for the theme of Love or Hearts.

I thought it was about time that I blew the dust of my pencils as it's ages since I used them.  I really enjoyed colouring this Magnolia image on kraft card but didn't know quite what to do with it afterwards!  I decided in the end just to keep things very simple - I can always add a sentiment when I know where and to whom this card will be going!

Arghhhhhhhh!

Ever feel like technology is ganging up on you?  For a while now I've been having problems with Internet Explorer "freezing" on my pc, so I tried switching to Chrome.  This is great apart from one thing... it won't let me post, or edit posts in Blogger.  So I have to go back into Blogger via IE to do my posts, but I keep getting error messages saying that my version of IE isn't compatible with Blogger.  To crown it all, my laptop/netbook thingy (not really sure what you call it) has also decided to play up - all of the apps I use, including the Kindle, have suddenly stopped working. I can't get into the Store to update the apps, in case that's the problem.  I've even tried system restore and it still won't work.  NOT happy.

Anyhoo, I'm here to let you know that we have a fabby sketch for you to follow for our latest challenge at Sweet Stampin'.   Here's what I did:

 

 

I used a cute Mo Manning digi which I coloured with my Copics.  The papers are Echo Park and I love the colours! The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is a die cut from Craftwork Cards.  I wish I could have been able to post a better photo but I think we're all struggling with our dark and dreadful weather at the moment.

Totally Tropical... Christmas!

It's time for a challenge with a bit of a twist at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'.  Yes, as usual, we'd like to see a Christmas project but this one has a different spin on it - we'd like your design to be appropriate for those who are celebrating the festive season in sunnier climes than our own!

I'll be honest, it took me a while to decide what I was going to do and I ended up using 3 different Magnolia stamps to create this scene:

I stamped and masked the palm tree, then over stamped with the beach scene.  Try as I might, I couldn't get the little Santa and his sleigh stamp to sit in the right place, so I resorted to stamping this image and cutting it out so that I could put it exactly where it needed to be!

The whole thing was painted with DIs and I used a Sakura glitter pen to highlight the butterflies.  Unfortunately in this photo you can barely see the Merry Christmas sentiment, which was created using a Pebbles Inc. rub-on.

Pearls and lace

It's time for another challenge over at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia.  This fortnight our theme is Pearls and Lace.

I got the Go Kreate dies out to make my DT card:

The card base is cut from Bazzill and the papers are Maja Designs.  I've inked card and paper edges with Walnut Stain DI and added lace, velvet ribbon, pearls and a little butterfly from one of the new Papermania collections.  Tilda has been coloured with Copics and I've put some Stickles on her hairband for a bit of sparkle.

Before I go, I must apologise for not being able to do much commenting at the moment.  I am visiting you all when I can, but I switched to Google Chrome recently as I was having problems with IE.  Accessing information is certainly quicker, but now I can't comment or add any posts!  I'm having to go out of Chrome and back into Blogger via IE to write my posts, then back in via Chrome to check that the posts have loaded!  Hopeless!

It must be lurve...

Hello!  It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and this week's theme is Valentines or Love.  I opted for CAS this week so that I could spend time colouring this gorgeous Tiddly Inks image:

I'm struggling to get decent piccies with such low light levels but still haven't got round to ordering a light box or daylight lamp.  Must try harder!

I coloured the image with my Copics and used some little chipboard hearts to break up the white space.  Very simple, I know, but that dress took some ink!
